Exciting farm renovation projects underway

For generations, the homesteads throughout the Whāngārā Farms blocks have withstood the test of time and most importantly, have homed families and farming staff that have contributed decades and often their entire lives to working our whenua.

Once in a while an incredible renovation opportunity pops up in the plans that will excite anyone who dreams of contributing to our rural paradise here in Whāngārā.

And so, as part of several upgrade projects planned throughout our farm buildings, the team have been hard at work at Tapuwae Whitiwhiti Station, getting it ready to be the first taken through a hefty renovation journey.

The historic farmhouses and their surrounding outbuildings, all of which require renovation or restoration, are part of the long history of Whāngārā Farms. The reward at the end will be worth the hard ‘yakka’ and add to the idyllic location, preserved and loved for the present and into the future, as have the homes already been to this date.

The upgrade and regeneration projects will see to fruition a plan for the whenua that outlines how the business, shareholders and its constituents would like to see future generations thrive and prosper on its 8,000+ hectares of whenua (land) in Whāngārā Farms partnership blocks. The projects will look to establish a holistic multi-generational vision for the best possible returns for business alongside how all whānau can be connected to and live prosperously with the whenua (land).

The renovations and restoration will continue throughout summertime in preparation for the appointment of a Farm Manager for Tapuwae Whitiwhiti Station in the new year.

The new manager and their whānau, as we already know, will be surrounded by some of Aotearoa’s most glorious and special scenery on Whitiwhiti, whilst being a part of our powerful community whose aspirations for the future will continue to drive us forward as we work together for the benefit of our people and our taiao.

Watch this space – we look forward to sharing more of the renovation and restoration plans for our farms into the future.
