The purpose of the Our People subcommittee is to ensure that the well-being and mana motuhake of our shareholders and wider whānau are at the forefront of all decisions being made.
At the core of our mission is the belief that tikanga will guide us in the right direction and the cultural health and safety of our whānau is essential for fostering a strong sense of identity and belonging.
We are committed to keeping our whānau informed and sharing exciting new updates while also preserving our kōrero tuku iho and unique heritage. We aim to do this by creating a two way communication strategy that strives for active engagement and meaningful interactions between the Farm, the Board, shareholders, and all of our whānau members.
These narratives will be captured for future generations, enriching our collective understanding of our past and shaping the path ahead.
With this in mind, we’re also big on developing a succession plan that ensures continuity in leadership, knowledge, and skills. By empowering current leaders and nurturing Rangatahi with emerging talents, we aim to build a sustainable and thriving business that continues to put its people first.
An initial series of 5 episodes, broke ground in enabling Whangara Farms to reconnect digitally with shareholders, whanau, partners and friends. Highlighting the after effects of Cyclone Gabriel, plus introducing the new Pou working groups within the farm, these will continue to provide relevant and informative discussions in upcoming episodes.
We proudly support the Ngati Konohi wananga that are leading up to the Whitireia 85th celebration, acknowledging the strong and deep connection Whangara Farms has with our Whitireia whare.
A key project within our communication strategy, has been the redesigning and updating of the Whangara Farms website, to ensure ease of use and relevance. A new feature pānui page, will be used to highlight past, present and upcoming events.
